Course Update – June 2, 2026
As we move into the heart of the growing season, course conditions continue to progress very well. The greens are healthy, actively growing, and have now reached their target summer mowing height of 0.120″. Recent cultural practices, including verticutting and topdressing, have been instrumental in improving surface smoothness, consistency, and overall playability. These programs will remain an important part of our ongoing maintenance strategy as we work to provide the best possible putting conditions throughout the season.
One of the most encouraging developments has been the rainfall we received this week. The course benefited from approximately two inches of precipitation, which has significantly improved soil moisture levels and strengthened our long-term outlook heading into the summer months. Given the dry conditions we often face during the growing season, this moisture arrives at an ideal time and will help support turf health across all playing surfaces.
Our spring Poa Cure applications have now been completed, and we are very pleased with the results. The Poa reduction program continues to show positive progress throughout the golf course, contributing to healthier and more consistent turf stands. We will resume these applications in September as part of our long-term turf improvement strategy.
As expected with any aggressive turf conversion program, there are several areas where turf recovery is still underway. The most noticeable locations remain portions of Fairways 1 and 3, where thinning and bare areas are present. While these areas are not ideal in the short term, they are a direct result of the improvements we are making to turf quality. With warmer temperatures, adequate moisture, and continued attention from our team, we expect these areas to continue filling in throughout the summer.
In addition to our turf programs, we have placed a major emphasis on bunker maintenance this season. Our team has increased the time and resources dedicated to bunker conditioning, and we are implementing several adjustments aimed at improving consistency and reducing the frequency of buried lies.
Overall, we are pleased with where the golf course stands as we enter June. While there are still areas that require continued attention and recovery, the overall health of the course is strong, our agronomic programs are producing positive results, and the recent rainfall has provided a welcome boost heading into summer.
