Position Summary

The Activities Coordinator reports to the Director of Outdoor Pursuits. The Activities Coordinator’s primary role is the planning, staffing and implementation of Camp Iron Horse (CIH) in the summer and at Christmas / Winter Holiday.  The Activities Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the CIH operation including staffing, management, programing, and training. This is a twelve-month, full-time position.  The Activities Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with outside vendors that CIH utilizes.

The Activities Coordinator also assists in directly working or staffing other activities within Outdoor Pursuits, such as, but not limited to: Easter Egg Hunt, Shoulder-season pool shifts and Outdoor Pursuits concierge desk.

The successful candidate shall be skilled at giving and receiving feedback.  Able to manage large scale projects and event coordination.  Comfortable in crucial conversations.  Have a strong educational our outdoor leadership background.

Supervises: Camp Counselors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, outdoor / wilderness program management or similar degree
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professional courtesy and communication ability
  • Computer skills with proficiency in G Suite, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Team Orientated
  • Organized
  • Proficient in professional telephone etiquette
  • Working with children in a camp setting preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
  • Possess valid driver’s license.
  • Acceptable background check investigation

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manages all aspects of the Outdoor Pursuits Program in the absence of the Director
  2. Schedules, coordinates, and executes all responsibilities related to Camp Iron Horse.
  3. Performs various admin duties including answering telephones and making reservations
  4. Maintain good relations in the community with outfitters, guides, service providers, etc.
  5. Accounts for member charges
  6. Ensures that all applicable daily reports are completed correctly
  7. Maintains contact with members and helps to assure maximum member satisfaction
  8. Participates in on-going facility inspections throughout the club to assure that cleanliness, safety, and other standards are consistently attained.
  9. Interacts with members answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services and cleanliness, and showing the club facilities to visitors
  10. Undertakes special projects as requested by the Director

Winter Operations:

  1. Responsible for snow removal around the Fish Camp Lodge and activity areas
  2. Christmas / Holiday season activities at Iron Horse Golf Club

 Physical Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Report for assigned shift as scheduled
  2. Plays games with children
  3. Supervises children’s play activities
  4. Takes appropriate action to resolve disputes between children as necessary
  5. Maintains safe and clean facility
  6. Leads children in exercises, on-grounds field trips and other activities approved by the Director of Outdoor Pursuits
  7. Performs first-aid and other duties in the event of an emergency
  8. Report and document any incidents requiring first-aid
  9. Drives children in various vehicles including rental vehicles
  10. Carries out daily duties of the Fish Camp Lodge
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or Activities Coordinator

Physical Requirements

While working the employee must twist, stoop/bend, squat, swim, kneel, climb stairs, hike, run, jump, walk indoors and out,  push 25-50 lbs., lift up to 30 lbs., reach over shoulder height, reach at shoulder height, reach below shoulder height, and carry up to 30 lbs. Exposure to sunlight and outdoor elements is common. Employee must be capable of safely operating an automobile.

Job Summary

Provides a professional level of instruction in the various water activities (wake boarding, water skiing, wake surfing) as requested by members or guests.

Perform all duties and services required of marina personnel in a safe, courteous, efficient and professional manner at all times.

Supervises: no others

Related Titles: Marina attendant

Qualifications

Experience with water sports activities, coaching water sports and power boat operation

Demonstrate the highest level of professional courtesy and communication ability

Demonstrate ability in organizational skills

Licenses/Certifications

First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Possess a valid driver’s license
Satisfactory driving record in accordance with liability insurance guidelines

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervises marina coaches and assigns lessons as determined by reservation list
  2. Instructs the member or guests in various water activities in a courteous and professional manner
  3. Takes on driver duties for the various marina watercraft as scheduled
  4. Provides assistance to members and guests in getting underway and mooring the club’s and member’s boats at the marina
  5. Ensures the daily log is maintained for all water activity instruction and watercraft rental provided throughout the day.
  6. Assists with all services available in the normal operation of the marina according to procedures prescribed by the Marina Manager including boat washes, fueling of boats, delivery of food, beverages and other merchandise
  7. Assists with answering phone and scheduling reservations for various watercraft
  8. Provide operational orientation for members and guest on the safe operation of the watercraft
  9. Ensure the marina is maintained in a neat, clean and orderly condition at all times
