This Fall brings more chemical control of poa annua throughout the golf course. I’m sure many have noticed some of the little white patches of turf throughout the shortgrass on the golf course: this is the result of spraying a special blend of chemicals that targets poa annua and should reduce our current poa population by about 80%. We have been successful throughout the past 15 years in keeping the greens clean by manually picking the poa as it emerges.
It seems that I say this every year now, but we are taking a beating again this season from a pretty significant increase in traffic. We will be spending some time this Fall and Spring repairing many of the areas where carts enter and exit the course.
