November 2014
After a beautiful September and October, we were finally frozen solid in the second week of November, bringing a halt to our project work until spring. We made a lot of progress and have many projects underway, so we’re looking forward to a busy spring…and hopefully favorable weather.
This is what we are working on right now:
*We have stripped two of the Practice Facility tees so that we can create a better grade and install drainage.
*We are adding additional drive-off area to holes three and six.
*The area surrounding the new clay tennis courts is close to completion with pavers, new landscaping, and irrigation and soil installed for the turf areas.
*We have installed a new cart path that services the back of 14 green and takes our members right down to the same level as the green. Additional work to the left-hand sideĀ of the hole is ongoing.
*Blue Spruce roots have been removed from the II Tee on 17 and the tee will be leveled and resurfaced in the spring.
Poa Program 2014 was a great success. We sprayed the course three times, every other week beginning in late August and from all appearances going into winter, at least 80% of the Poa Annua has been eliminated.
